From design and value engineering to fabrication and installation
Framedeck provides a complete design, fabrication, and installation service for building projects across the UK. More than 50% of our work involves full design-and-build services; the remainder being engineered design schemes, where we use our expertise to design connection detailing and advise on value-engineering, where required. On every project, we use our knowledge and experience to achieve the most efficient, cost-effective buildings that fulfil all performance criteria for our clients.
Technical design and structural engineering support
Our in-house technical team of draughtsmen and structural engineers use the latest Tekla software and 3D modelling packages. We offer a full range of services to our clients, from individual connection designs on consultant-led schemes to full designs on ‘design-and-build’ projects.
Our team can support main contractors at the tender stage, helping to secure commissions by developing the most cost-effective design solutions, and providing value-engineering advice to reduce costs and programme times.
Computer-aided design and detailing
Our fully integrated computer-aided design and manufacture systems use the latest Tekla design and modelling software to provide accurate 3D drawings that can be shared by the whole design team.
Tekla can be used as a Building Information Model and we have experience in leading the construction of complex buildings using this system. We can import information from other 3D and 2D data sources and create the highest level of constructability and production control.
The information we create in the 3D model is uploaded to our material planning system and is routed to the appropriate plant and machinery. Fabrication programming and delivery schedules are also created, providing a fully traceable system through to completion.
Precision steel production
Steelwork is fabricated in-house at our 2.5-acre production facility in Pocklington, capable of producing approximately 10,000 tonnes of structural steelwork per year
Our workforce has a wealth of experience in projects that range from beam-and-column and portal frame buildings to the most complex steel-framed structures.
We use advanced CNC machinery, linked to our detailing department, to ensure precise, fast and efficient cutting, drilling and processing operations. We have full shot-blast facilities, connected to our production control system and carry out all plating and finishes touches to prepare the steelwork for installation. We complete all painting in-house, as well as applying finished surface treatments, including single and multi-coat systems.
Our manufacturing process is scheduled in planned ‘lots’ dictated by the required installation sequence. All components are identified with part or erection marks to meet CE-marking requirements and provide full traceability of all components.
Safe, fast, quality-assured installation
Framedeck provides a full steel frame erection and installation service. Our erection teams are fully certified in line with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). We maintain a 100% CSCS card level for all site operatives.
All erection work is carried out using mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), with all
operatives IPAF Plus trained. MEWP and crane operators are also CPCS certified, and relevant members of our team hold CPCS Slinger/Signaller qualifications.
The health and safety of our workforce and anyone working on or visiting the sites where we operate is paramount. Our extensive training programmes ensure all our people have the required skills for all aspects of on-site works.
We understand that our clients need access to the structure at the earliest opportunity to allow follow-on trades to progress as soon as possible, which is why we propose a phased hand-over of structures, to help clients achieve their programme targets.
Quality assurance and environmental certification
Framedeck is quality assured to BS EN ISO 9001 and has environmental certification to BS EN ISO 14001. We have gained certification to CE Marking execution class 2.
Our Health & Safety Management System is accredited to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standards. Adherence to our Policy Statement on Health and Safety is our highest priority.
In addition, we also carry Chas, Construction online, SMAS and SSIP accreditations.
